Doodled embroidery mushroom

IMG_3775
For a swap I made this mandala of mushrooms. The diameter of the circle is about 15 cm I think. I used backstitch and didn’t follow a pattern, but made it up myself. Hope my swap partner likes it (and I’ll get something nice back too….I requested a house theme, this theme was obviously mushrooms)!

A great blog for doodled stitchery (or embroidery, as far as I know it’s the same) is Feeling stitchy.

And for the give away I made this package for winner Hutsefluts. All kinds of random cute things: I carved the stamps for the stickers and labels myself last year. For those who cannot read Dutch, on her blog she explains that het daughter has already claimed the bag and pegdolls!

Two more!

To prove I have been making things, of course it's this pattern again. I told you I'd be making more:

And here L. is wearing the yellow/pink combination, cute right?!

From the leftover biasband (diagonal pink and white stripes, very sweet) I made a little flower to pin on the tunic. If you click on the picture you should get a better look.

Any good pattern idea's for little pants??? Let me know!

(and yes, I found the battery charger!)

The vanishing battery charger…..(or The reason this post only has pictures of my daughter)

As you may understand from the post tiltle: I have misplaced the battery charger for the camera……hope to find it soon and make some new pictures for you to see, because I have been making things!!

Next week I have to start working again, after being on leave for a good 6 months. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm sure that it'll be ok once I start. I will miss my little girl! She has been at daycare for a few hours on Wednesday to get used to the carers and enviroment. It's probabely more for the parents though. L. was just fine. I'm taking her there again in an hour and I can pick her up later today.

Ah, here she is, just after her bath…

She is 6 months now (and two days), time flies……

Gumball machine!

The answer for the give away was: gumball machine! But I accepted gumball too in the draw ;-)

And the winner is………Hutsefluts ! I will contact you for your address! Thank you everybody who joined, it was fun reading your answers!

IMG_3707

I bought this cutie two weeks ago at a fleamarket. It is not an old one, but very new and clean! Who knew it would take almost a kilo of gumballs to fill it up!

IMG_3710

I also have two miniature gumball machines, so now I have three. Oops, that looks like a new collection….just what I need, more things to collect ;-)

IMG_3712

Oh, I also found some cool things related to gumballs!

A fishtank! It looks nice, but it's a bit small for the fish I think… From Craft Dude.

Wrapping paper and Winter Wonderland print

IMG_3690
Last week I saw these rolls of wrapping paper and I just had to buy them.

Am I the only one who has about 20 different rolls??? I just can’t resist a nice print! For the Dutch readers: I got them at Xenos, so they were cheap ;-) .

IMG_3692
I also found this lovely print to go in L.’s room this winter. I like the idea of pictures and prints changing with the season. It already had the pink frame, so that was great!

Don’t forget to guess what starts with a ‘g’ !

Give away!

Look at the picture below: I spy with my little eye……something starting with a ‘g’……..

IMG_3708
If you know the answer, leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Monday!

You could be the fabulous winner of a suprise goodiebag (and I’ll send worldwide)!

IMG_3704
And look at L. hiding in her hoodie ;-)

IMG_3705

She had pulled it over her eyes herself so she could sleep! Look at the disturbed face in the second picture when I had put the hood up again.

Don’t forget to leave a comment: it starts with a ‘g’!

The other side of the attic

Ok, this post title sounds a little more dramatic than it is…

IMG_3677
I present: our books in colour order!

My parents had their books ordered like this when I was little, and I have seen it around in blogland herehere and here .

This is the other side of the attic, with on the right (not showing in the picture) the washer and dryer and on the left a bookcase with our photoalbums and travelbooks. When we moved in three years ago, the wall was badly painted white and had 45 holes in it (really, I counted them!). Last week it was time for a change. I took out all the plugs that were in the holes, filled the holes and painted the wall a lovely shade of green.

I made about 20 new holes to hang the shelving system and used some power tools to make the shelves actually fit. Arranged all the books by colour and done!

IMG_3676
Just one more thing untill it is really done: cover up those ugly pipes…..any ideas???

And I forgot a pile of books, so that top shelf is now also filled!

The weather has been horrible for last days, but it did give us this real rainbow! It’s a double rainbow, but that’s not very clear in the picture.

Tree Tunic

Just a quick post, to show you the tunic I made for L.:

IMG_3634

I love this tree fabric! I bought an FQ of it a while ago at Zuidema fournituren and it was exactly enough to make this easy tunic.

IMG_3635

It’s a Farbenmix pattern, size 62/68. I got it via a great swap from Anni-tas. Check out her blog, She has made better pictures of the goodies she spoiled me with (including a tunic she made in cool woodland fabric!) and she has a great tutorial up right now!

IMG_3621
I’m pretty sure I will be making more of these (I also have the pattern a size up, yay!) because the are so versatile to wear. Perfect for summer, with only a pair of bloomers. Ideal in autumn (or Dutch summers) with a short sleeved onsie and pants/leggings and add a cardigan if it gets even colder!

If you make the pattern longer: it’s a dress! I’m so happy with it! (and again, easy to make: no buttons/snaps/zippers in sight!)
